Section 04/Aerodromes
Aerodromes
Cuatro Vientos, Getafe, Tablada, Sabadell — grass first, then hardstanding, with hangars that outlasted the aircraft they were built for and fields that are still in use.

Cuatro Vientos, Madrid
One of the oldest aerodromes still in use, and where the first practicable rotorcraft flew.

Getafe, Madrid
A works aerodrome beside a factory, which is a different kind of place from a flying field.

Tablada, Seville
An early southern airfield whose buildings survive better than most.

Sabadell, Barcelona
A general-aviation field of the kind where light aircraft work actually happens.
Where they are
Four fields
Two of them sit within a few kilometres of each other on the southern edge of Madrid, which is why the same machines appear in both records. The national collection is on the Cuatro Vientos site.
