Organiser The 24th FAI World Aerobatic Championships will be organized by the Royal Spanish Aeronautical Federation in collaboration with the Royal Aero Club of Spain. 1.2. Date The 24th FAI World Aerobatic Championships will be held from 24 June to 4 July 2007. 1.3. Site The 24th FAI World Aerobatic Championships will be held at Armilla Military Base. Armilla Military Base is located 5 km away from Granada City. The box will be placed over a clear and level ground. Tents will be available for each team. 1.4. Local transport The Organiser will make available a shuttle bus service from the hotel to the base, and back. Rental cars will be available. 1.5. International access to the site Granada Airport Barajas Airport (Madrid) By car: Highway Madrid - Granada 435 kms 1.6. (local time UTC + 2 hours). According to the development of the competition, this schedule could be extended from sunrise to sunset by the Director of the Championship. In the same way, daily schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions. 3. Regulations 3.1. The 24th FAI World Aerobatic Championships will be conducted under the following rules: - FAI Sporting Code Section 6 Part 1. - Local Regulations. - Flight rules issued by the Spanish Aviation Authorities. Concerning Line Judges, we have applied to the Bureau of CIVA for a special dispensation from the rule of making them mandatory. We will inform you when the Bureau makes a decision. 4. Official Language 4.1. English will be the official language to be used at the 24th World Aerobatic Championships. In all interpretations the English language version of the FAI Sporting Code and the CIVA Regulations will prevail. 4.2. Information will be published and briefings/task setting will be conducted in English and Spanish language. 4.3. During the World Championships the International Jury and the Board of Judges will be assisted by English-Spanish interpreters provided by the Organizer. 4.4. Radio communications will be maintained in English language. 5. Entry Requirements 5.1. The Championship is open to pilots who are members of the FAI National Aero Clubs and who are in possession of a valid FAI Sporting License. 5.2. Pilots must be in possession of a valid personal health/accident insurance policy. 5.3. National Aero Clubs may send pilots up to a maximum of ten (10). Of these pilots, no more than seven (7) may be of the same gender. 5.4. If the resulting total number exceeds eighty (80) competitors, the Organizers shall have the right, without reference to CIVA, to reduce the maximum number of pilots per country to nine (9) or eight (8). (1.2.4.1.a.i., Section 6, FAI Sporting Code). 5.4. Solo male or female entries are allowed and will be accepted from National Aero Clubs unable to send the minimum number of 3 competitors required for the team competition in the men's and women's divisions (1.2.4.1.a.ii., Section 6, FAI Sporting Code). 5.5. Together with the pilots, the team of each National Aero Club may include the following officials: 1 chief delegate, 1 team manager, 1 trainer, 1 doctor and/or physiotherapist, 1 interpreter, and no more than 3 mechanics. 5.6. Relatives of competitors will be accepted as Observers of a national team. 6. Aircraft documentation 6.1. All competing aircraft must meet the performance characteristics required for the kind of flight they will be undertaking. A valid aerobatic certificate of airworthiness or equivalent document issued by the competent aviation authority of the participant's country must be produced to the Organizer for every contest aircraft. 6.2. According to the European Union regulations, all competing aircraft must have a Certificate of Insurance against Third Party Liability covering a minimum limit of 1.290.000 Euros valid for Spain for the period of operation in Spain. 6.3. Aircraft will not be admitted to the contest unless the appropriate documentation has been submitted to the Organizer. 6.4. Concerning the necessary temporary import and export procedures for countries outside the European Union, it is highly recommended that everything is settled as early as possible. Please ensure that the official papers in the country of origin are correctly processed so that no inconveniences arise when reaching Spain. We are open to advise you on any doubt that you could have in this matter. 7. Hangarage 7.1. No hangarage will be provided. 8. Registration 9.1. Registration period is now open and ends on 11 May 2007. 9.2. The Official Registration Form is attached. This Form together with the entry fees must be received by the Organizers by 11 May 2007. 9.3. Organizers shall reserve the right to accept or refuse those registrations received after 11 May 2007. In case they are accepted, entry fees will have a 20% increment. 10. Entry Fees Standard Entry Registration Pilots - double room: 1.550 euro Other team members and observers - double room: 1.400 euro Pilots - single room: 1.900 euro Other team members and observers - single room: 1.750 euro Option Hotel 4* Pilots - double room: 1.750 euro Other team members and observers - double room: 1.600 euro Pilots - single room: 2.100 euro Other team members and observers - single room: 1.950 euro The entry fee will cover Accommodation 3 meals per day Fuel and oil for competition flights* Transportation between hotel and airfield Official and social functions *Fuel and lubricants provided by the Organiser will be: Fuel: AVGAS 100LL Oil: Aero Shell W100 Any pilot who need Aero Shell W120 could ask for it to the Organiser before the Championship starts. Payment Payment of entry fees must be made by BANK TRANSFER to the Real Aero Club de España. Entry fees must be transferred to the Real Aero Club de España by 11 May 2007 at the latest. Bank transfers must be arranged so that all banking charges are paid by the originator of the transfer.
